What area codes are used in Sweden?
Sweden is regionally divided into various area code zones. These area codes are part of the Numbering Plan for Telephone and ISDN services and were introduced when local calling became possible.

Fun fact:
Before local numbers were introduced, a telephone operator had to manually connect you to the other phone number. You’d speak to an operator and give your municipality before being transferred.
