The Chrome browser asks for certain permissions when you open the Webphone. For example, when you open the Webphone for the first time, we ask for your permission to send you notifications and play sounds through Chrome.
In this article we answer the following questions:
I clicked the permissions pop-up away. How do I still give the right permissions to start making calls with the Webphone?
How do I give permission to use the microphone and receiving notifications so I can make calls with the Webphone?
You clicked something (by accident) or initially didn't want to use the Webphone to make calls. Now you do. No problem, it's an easy fix.
Go to the Webphone
At the top left of your screen, in the search bar, there's a padlock icon. Click on the padlock.
Toggle the permissions for microphone and notifications to green.
Reload the page (CTRL + R on Windows, CMD + R on Mac)
That's how you Rinkel.
As soon as you open the Webphone for the first time, you will get a pop-up, Permissions.
In the pop-up, click on Allow access to microphone
A new message will appear in the top left corner, click on Allow
You will now see a red dot appear in the Webphone tab.
This means the Webphone page now has permission to use the microphone.
Now, you can allow acces to receive notifications. This is very important, because it will allow us to "call" you when you are not on the Webphone page. You will hear a ringtone on your pc with a notification, to go to the Webphone directly.
In the pop-up, click on Allow access to Notifications.
A new message will appear in the top left corner, click on "Allow".
Once you have given your permission for acces to the microphone and once you have allowed us to send you notifications, you are automatically free to use the Webphone!
