5 tips for a great voicemail message

A well-recorded voicemail sounds professional and clear. Here are a few tips to ensure your voicemail leaves a good impression when you can't answer the phone:

  • Use a professional voice-over - Want to sound truly professional? Have a professional voice-over artist record your voicemail. This ensures a clear and polished message.
  • Speak easy and clearly - If you record your voicemail yourself, avoid background noise and make sure your message is easy to understand.
  • Keep it short and to the point - Callers want to quickly know why you’re unavailable and what they can do next.
  • Give clear information - Let callers know if they can leave a message or when they can reach you again.
  • Use a friendly, professional tone - This creates a positive experience for the caller.

What is a good voicemail script?

A good voicemail message is short, clear, and professional. Here’s an example you can use right away:

"Hello, this is [your name] from [company name]. I’m currently unavailable. Please leave a message after the beep, and I will call you back as soon as possible. If it’s urgent, feel free to send me an email at [email address]. Thanks, and speak soon!"

Want to personalise your voicemail or match it to your business hours? Simply adjust the script so your customers always know what to expect.

4. Sort your insurance

By setting up a good voicemail, you ensure that you’re always professionally reachable—even when you can’t take a call. Whether you choose a personal message or a professional voice-over, a clear voicemail leaves a strong impression on your customers.
