The time has come, ISDN is going out. From 1 September 2019, all existing ISDN connections will be discontinued. So it's important that you switch to an alternative solution before then.

Why?

For years, ISDN has been the standard solution for many a business, from ZZP to Multinational. It is an old, reliable, but stagnant technology. There has been no development of ISDN technology for years, mainly because of the advent of Voice over IP solutions.

By now, the technology is so outdated that the vast majority of all connections in the Netherlands have already switched from ISDN to IP solutions. It is therefore finally time to sweep through the broom and also disband the last ISDN connections once and for all, moving the Netherlands to a full VoIP landscape.

Now what?

The most common escape route is VoIP (or Voice over IP), better known as "Calling over internet". Ideal for larger companies with an office building and dozens of employees, less convenient for the mobile, flexible or start-up entrepreneur. This is because with VoIP, you are still tied to 1 office space, not very convenient if you use flex workstations or are on the road a lot.

For that group of entrepreneurs, Rinkel is the better solution. No fixed workplace, but still reachable everywhere with your fixed number; directly on your mobile.

Rinkel uses the reliable GSM network and therefore does not suffer from the sometimes inconsistent call quality that one often encounters with VoIP.

Your old ISDN telephone exchange

Many companies that still work on ISDN also use an ISDN telephone exchange, which as a rule cannot be connected to VoIP. At Rinkel, you get a complete telephone exchange on your mobile phone. This gives you state-of-the-art features such as automatic day/night mode, choice menu, welcome message, queue and more; directly at your disposal. Without having a big cabinet hanging on the wall! And, with no investment costs... just included with your subscription.

Switching

Switching from your current ISDN subscription to Rinkel is easy and free of charge. You can request your number transfer in our ordering process. We will arrange to keep your phone number free of charge (if you want) and help you set up your switchboard.
