How do I manage call forwarding on my computer?

You have various options for forwarding your landline number. This article explains how to set up call forwarding in My Rinkel on your computer.


What are the call forwarding options?

Choose the forwarding sequence when a call comes in.

  • Simultaneously...the call is put through to every colleague at the same time (first-come, first-served)

  • One by one... Do you work with several colleagues and want colleague 1 to be the first in line? If so, please enable this option and put colleague 1 at the top of the list.

  • Straight to the answering service... Temporarily unavailable, but you want the caller to be answered personally? Then choose our answering service.


How do I add a user or number to the call forwarding list?

Add a user

  1. Go to My Rinkel

  2. Then in Forwarding click on “Change”

  3. To the right of the “Add number” field is the “Address book” icon, which you can click on

  4. In the newly opened screen, select the User you want to add to the call forwarding list

  5. The user is now added, just remember to click on Save changes on the right hand side to make it active immediately.

Add a number

  1. In the “Add number” field, enter the number to which you want to forward the call

  2. After entering the number, click on the + icon

  3. The number has now been added, just remember to click on “Save changes” on the right-hand side to make it active immediately.

Good to know! You can forward to as many numbers as there are users in your plan. So, if you have a Rinkel Complete subscription with 3 users, you can forward to (maximum) 3 users/numbers.


How do I remove a user or number from the call forwarding list?

  1. Go to My Rinkel

  2. Then in “Forwarding” and click on “Change”

  3. To the right of the user or number, click on the x icon

  4. The user or number is now deleted from the call forwarding list

  5. Finally, click on “Save changes” to make it active immediately


How can I make a user or number temporarily active/inactive?

  1. Go to My Rinkel

  2. Then in “Forwarding” click on “Change”

  3. Click on the “toggle” icon to the right of the user or number. Active = bold, inactive = not bold

  4. Finally, click on “Save changes” to activate your change immediately.

This feature is ideal if you are going into a meeting or are out of office for a day and don’t want to receive any calls for a while. Just don't forget to reactivate yourself when you want to receive calls again.


How do I set the order in which the users/numbers are called?

  1. Go to My Rinkel

  2. Then in “Forwarding” click on “Change”

  3. Select the user or number by using the three horizontal dashes and drag it up or down to the position you want.

  4. Finally, click on “Save changes” to activate your change immediately.

Please note: This only works if you have set the call forwarding to “One by one”. The users/numbers are then called one by one from top to bottom for the duration of the set ringing time (default 20 seconds).
